The Student Life at St. Peter Catholic School Clubs
St. Peter Catholic Schools offers a variaty of club that our students can become members of.
Chess Club |
Sponsor: Mr. McConnell Sponsor Contact: dmcconnell@stpeter-deland.org Grade Levels: 6-8 Meeting Days: Thursdays from 3:15-5:00 Club meetings will consist of an instructional lesson in chess strategy, followed by an informal “round robin” style tournament. Each tournament has custom trophies and badges that circulate regularly. The top players of the club will have the opportunity to play competitively against other organizations. |
Guitar Club |
Sponsor: Mr. McConnell Sponsor Contact: dmcconnell@stpeter-deland.org Grade Levels: 6-8 Meeting Days: Tuesdays from 3:15-5:00 Club meetings are individual lessons, group ensemble projects, and fun jam sessions. Each member is required to bring their own instrument. At the end of each year, there is a showcase performance for friends and family. |
Choir Club |
Sponsor: Mr. Adams Sponsor Contact: jadams@stpeter-deland.org Grade Levels: 6-8 Meeting Day: Thursdays from 3:15-4:15 The St. Peter choir provides music for the weekly school Mass on Wednesdays. Practice is every Thursday from 3:15-4:15 in the music room. Pick up is from the brown tile door. |
Reading Club |
Sponsor: Mrs. Labonte Sponsor Contact: blabonte@stpeter-deland.org Grade Levels: K-3 Meeting Days: 1st Monday of each month from 3:15-4:00. The reading club provides a fun way for students to engage in reading-based activities like chapter book read-alouds, phonemic awareness/sound activities, and thematic crafts/snacks. Activities will be centered around holidays and the liturgical calendar. Pick-up will be from the brown tile door. Any student not picked up will be sent to aftercare. |
Art Club |
Sponsor: Dr. Scelza Sponsor Contact: tscelza@stpeter-deland.org Grade Levels: 6-8 Meeting Days: Thursdays from 3:15-4:30 Participants in art club will collaborate and interact within a visual arts environment. The goal for students is to find their independent vision within a supportive setting.
