The Student Life at St. Peter Catholic School Clubs

St. Peter Catholic Schools offers a variaty of club that our students can become members of.
Chess Club
Sponsor: Mr. McConnell Sponsor Contact: dmcconnell@stpeter-deland.org Grade Levels: 6-8 Meeting Days: Thursdays from 3:15-5:00 Club meetings will consist of an instructional lesson in chess strategy, followed by an informal “round robin” style tournament. Each tournament has custom trophies and badges that circulate regularly. The top players of the club will have the opportunity to play competitively against other organizations.
Guitar Club
Sponsor: Mr. McConnell Sponsor Contact: dmcconnell@stpeter-deland.org Grade Levels: 6-8 Meeting Days: Tuesdays from 3:15-5:00 Club meetings are individual lessons, group ensemble projects, and fun jam sessions. Each member is required to bring their own instrument. At the end of each year, there is a showcase performance for friends and family.
Garden Club

Choir Club
Sponsor: Mr. Adams Sponsor Contact: jadams@stpeter-deland.org Grade Levels: 6-8 Meeting Day: Thursdays from 3:15-4:15 The St. Peter choir provides music for the weekly school Mass on Wednesdays. Practice is every Thursday from 3:15-4:15 in the music room. Pick up is from the brown tile door.
Reading Club
Sponsor: Mrs. Labonte Sponsor Contact: blabonte@stpeter-deland.org Grade Levels: K-3 Meeting Days: 1st Monday of each month from 3:15-4:00. The reading club provides a fun way for students to engage in reading-based activities like chapter book read-alouds, phonemic awareness/sound activities, and thematic crafts/snacks. Activities will be centered around holidays and the liturgical calendar. Pick-up will be from the brown tile door. Any student not picked up will be sent to aftercare.
Art Club

The goal for students is to find their independent vision within a supportive setting. STEM Club
Sponsor: Mrs. Wilkins Sponsor Contact: dwilkins@stpeter-deland.org Grade Levels: Coming Soon Meeting Days: Coming Soon St. Peter’s Middle School STEM Club exists to support our curriculum and provide fun opportunities for students to be creative and build competency in their subject knowledge and awareness of the role these subjects have in the world around them. Through regular twice-monthly after school attendance, students will challenge themselves to explore inventive methods to solve problems in various fields of science. The collaborative environment supports essential life skills such as: teamwork, critical thinking, learning to fail and being willing to experiment again.
